Before treatment
Care arrangements depend on the assessment. The team will explain who would provide treatment, where it would happen and whether a referral is needed.
Discuss symptoms and relevant health and dental history. An examination and imaging, when clinically useful, help clarify the findings.
Review monitoring, ways to retain a tooth, removal or further assessment as appropriate, including relevant risks, limits and expected fees.
Discuss the provider, care setting, preparation and follow-up. If care is needed outside the clinic’s scope, the team will explain the referral.
